Willie McCallum adds a Silver Star; MacCrimmon wins Inverness Gold Medal; Drummond takes A-Grade MSR
Inverness, Scotland – September 6, 2012 – Willie McCallum won his fourth Silver Star MSR, and Euan MacCrimmon added the Northern Meeting Highland Society of London Gold Medal to his expansive collection of piobaireachd awards, which already included the Oban Gold Medal. 2012 Argyllshire Gathering Gold Medallist Finlay Johnston narrowly missed the coveted “double” by finishing second. McCallum was first to play in the Silver Sar, which had 20 competitors.

In the first major result of the 2012 Northern Meeting, Cameron Drummond of Edinburgh won the A-Grade March, Strathspey & Reel, which now allows him to compete in the Silver Star MSR for Former Winners.
