Wellington Hawkes Bay goes to New Zealand Police
Wellington, New Zealand – February 24, 2019 – The New Zealand Police won for the second time in the 2018-19 antipodean summer season, splitting firsts and seconds with Manawatu Scottish, the only other band in the Grade 1 events, at the Wellington Hawkes Bay Centre provincial contest held at Scots College. Canterbury Caledonian Society and Auckland & District did not compete. The next competition on the New Zealand circuit is the New Zealand Championships in Dunedin, March 29-30. It was the fourth straight win of the Wellington Hawkes Bay Centre provincial contest for the New Zealand Police.

The New Zealand Police are now led by Pipe-Major Adam Michie, who took over after the departure of Emmett Conway, who moved back to the UK to become pipe-major of Grade 1 Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia. Angus Crowe continues to lead the drum section.
