Jim Kilpatrick to retire after World’s (video)

On August 9th the greatest competitive drummer in pipe band history made it official by announcing that the World’s would be his final contest. pipes|drums was there with an exclusive video interview, and readers and viewers ate up the news, recognizing the historical significance of the occasion. Kilpatrick’s Grade 1 Spirit of Scotland would honour him at the World’s march past. The last band to march on to the field, Kilpatrick and his corps would be at the front, as assembled bands applauded him at a contest one last time.
