Pipe-Major Alasdair Gillies Memorial Recital Challenge

Carrying on the tradition started in the Lord Todd Bar at Strathclyde University way back when Piping Live! was just a glimmer in Roddy MacLeod’s eye, the Pipe-Major Alasdair Gillies Memorial Recital Challenge will pit four top pipers against each other as they take to the stage to perform a medley of their favourite tunes, in homage to the late and truly great Alasdair Gillies. Last year this event was sold out, so advance purchase is recommended.

Finlay Johnston, Stuart Liddell (2016 champion), Angus MacColl and Ian K. MacDonald are confirmed to go at it hammer-and-tongs.
