Donald MacLeod Memorial Champ: Willie McCallum

The event introduced a new trophy for second prize in the Piobaireachd contest donated in memory of the late Scott MacAulay, one of the most accomplished Canadian pipers of all time. MacAulay’s family came from the Isle of Lewis.

Judges for all events were Iain MacFadyen, Willie Morrison and John Wilson.
Douglas Murray and Gordon Walker withdrew from the event the day before. The contestants each gladly played an air and a 6/8 march as an unjudged performance to make up for the spare time.
It is a true privilige to sit here i Stockholm, Sweden and listen. Very nice with the slow air 6/8 as well.
