BGandy bats a thousand at New Brunswick

Fredericton, New Brunswick – July 26-27, 2008 – The famous Scottish comedian Billy Connolly was in attendance at the 27th annual New Brunswick Highland Games Festival, where Bruce Gandy of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, won all four professional solo piping events. Connolly was in New Brunswick filming a segment for a series on Canada for ITV. Connolly is reportedly an avid fan of piobaireachd.

 

The band events were sparsely attended, with Fredericton and Dartmouth splitting each day in Grade 2, and the 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) organization dominating each grade in which it entered a band.
