Benoni MacTalla takes Jeppe Gathering
Kensington, South Africa – May 16, 2015 – The third competition of the South African pipe band season took place at Jeppe High School for Boys as part of the school’s 125th year anniversary celebrations and the 60th year anniversary of the school pipe band. The winter weather was classic Highveld, and Benoni MacTalla continued its winning streak by taking both the MSR and the Medley events in the Grade 2 band contest. Transvaal Scottish’s drum corps remained at the top and is unbeaten so far. The Pipe Bands Association of Southern Africa welcomed the St. Johns College Pipe Band from Zimbabwe to the competition.
