Wilson takes World Solo Drumming title
Glasgow – October 27, 2007 – Barry Wilson (pictured right), Leading-Drummer of the ScottishPower Pipe Band, won his first World Solo Drumming Championship, held for the first time at Glasgow Caledonian University. Perennial contender Jim Kilpatrick failed to make it out of his semi-final round and thus did not compete for a record seventeeth World Solo title.

2nd Gordon Brown, Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia
3rd Steven McWhirter, Simon Fraser University
4th Eric Ward, Strathclyde Police
5th J. Reid Maxwell, Simon Fraser University
6th Gordon Lee, Simon Fraser University
Wilson tied for first in both the MSR and Hornpipe & Jig sections of the event.

i would think that the world championship of solo drumming where Jim Kilpatrick is not in the final would warrant more than a 5 line toss off article.
I agree, Bruce. I don’t like to include analysis or commentary in Results articles, and when something extraordinary happens like Kilpatrick not getting through, it often warrants a separate News story, like the one just posted.
