Willie McCallum Sweeps San Francisco Event
San Fransisco, California – May 20, 2001 – Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland, continued his 2001 success by sweeping all three segments at the annual Dan Reid Memorial in San Francisco, California.
Participants in the event had to perform a variety of set material selected in advance, amounting to about 45 minutes of playing. A black tie affair held at the St. Francis Hotel in downtown San Francisco, the Dan Reid Memorial is largely attended by the city’s upper-crust.

Also playing in the senior events was Bill Livingstone of Whitby, Ontario.
In the lower grade “Cameron/Gillies Championship,” Iain Speirs of Edinburgh, Scotland, won both the piobaireachd and light music sections against Andrew Hayes, Nepean, Ontario, and Hector MacDonald, Unionville, Ontario.
All events were judged by Jack Taylor, Angus MacLellan, and Archie Cairns.
