#8. On The Day screens across Canada
For the first time in history, anywhere in the world, a feature-length film specifically about a pipe band was shown across an entire country. California filmmaker John McDonald’s documentary on the 2008 organization of the Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band captured audience attention, including non-players who simply love the sound of a pipe band in full force. This development again proved the attraction and marketability of piping and drumming to far-ranging audiences.
