The end of the road with Pipes & Sticks on Route 66

Santa Monica marks the end of the road and in true customary fashion; we got the pipes and drums out and entertained the beach crowd with a small recital whilst dipping ones feet in the water. Needless to say, a couple of waves managed to soak both ourselves and the instruments but did not seem to affect the performance!

To round off the day, it was a celebratory dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, which is a chain of seafood restaurants inspired by the film, Forrest Gump. We were tested on some trivia about the film before tucking into some shrimp and, naturally, a pint. Afterwards, we all retired to a well-earned rest at the Saga Motel in Pasadena.
