Scottish Junior Championship goes to Faye Henderson
Carnoustie, Scotalnd – September 17, 2005 – One-hundred-eighty-five pipers younger than 17 from all over the world competed at the annual Scottish Junior Solo Championships at the seaside village of Carnoustie. At the end of the day, James MacKenzie of the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, won the big award for former winners, and Faye Henderson of Kirriemuir, Scotland, was the new Scottish Junior Champion. The event is organized by the Practical Pipers Society and prizes included kilts, bagpipes and a trip to the United States and two weeks of tuition at the Balmoral School of Piping. No non-Scots won a prize.
