Roddy MacLeod wins his fifth Silver Chanter
Dunvegan, Scotland – August 6, 2008 – Roddy MacLeod took home the Silver Chanter, playing “Lament for Donald Duaghal MacKay” at the annual competition held in the drawing room of Dunvegan Castle. It was the fifth time that MacLeod has won the award.
MacLeod also won the award in 2007.
Other competitors in the event were Glenn Brown, Milton, Ontario; Simon McKerrell, Glasgow; Angus MacColl, Benderloch, Scotland; Niall Matheson, Inverness, Scotland; and Gordon Walker, Galston, Scotland.
Then contest was first staged in 1967, with Seumas MacNeill and John MacFadyen the organizers of the original event.
