Perth games latest Scottish event to be scrapped

The popular Perth Highland Games in Scotland, scheduled for August 15, the day after the World Pipe Band Championships, is the latest contest to be cancelled due to water-logged grounds.

The Atholl & Breadlbane Gathering, which was set for August 14, has also been cancelled.

Rain in much of Scotland has been near-non-stop for four straight days. There is no word yet on how the conditions might impact the World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green on August 14.
