LA Scots Change Leading Drummers
The Los Angeles Scots Pipe Band has revealed that they have made more changes, with Leading Drummer Carl Lenny moving back permanently to his native Scotland. Apart from a brief hiatus in 2002, Lenny had led the LA Scots drum corps for the past six years.
According to Pipe-Major Scott MacDonald, corps drummer Andrew Hoinacki will take over the spot. A native of Chicago, Hoinacki joined the LA Scots this past season and has led several corps for bands in Grade 2 and Grade 3 over the years.
There is no indication so far of where Lenny may play, or if he will play at all. Before moving to the United States, he played for almost a decade with Jim Kilpatrick’s drum sections in Shotts & Dykehead and Polkemmet Colliery.
