Klub not recalling faulty CDs
Klub Records Ltd. does not plan to recall the faulty CDs of the 2006 World Pipe Band Championships, and has opted instead to provide dealers and distributors corrected disc to include with the product that was already in the channel by the time the error was discovered.
“Dealers and distributors have been notified of the situation,” said Isobel Waugh, director of Klub Records. “For quickness the factory are running off discs which we will be sending out to replace the faulty ones. (The original discs can be binned). If the dealer does not want to unwrap, they can hand out the replacement with the original.”
Waugh added that the faulty CDs are “only arriving in North America this week.”
The original disc included the medley performance of the St. Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band twice, while omitting that of the Scottish Lion-78th Fraser Highlanders.
“In the 16 years that KRL have recorded the World Pipe Band Championships this is the first fault,” Waugh added.
One prominent dealer, requesting anonymity, sarcastically said, “It’s going to be great double-shipping these CDs out.”
