Glenn Brown Takes Overall Prize at Nicol-Brown Amateur Invitational

Hartford, Connecticut, October 7, 2000 – Glenn Brown of Milton, Ontario, won the aggregate award at the annual Nicol-Brown Amateur Invitational Piping Competition held here today, with 12 competitors from across North America taking part.

Brown won the March, Strathspey & Reel section, was second in the 6/8 march and third in the piobaireachd events. Erin McCarthy of Fort Ann, New York, won the piobaireachd section, and Andrew Hayes of Slingerlands, New York, took the 6/8 march.

For his efforts, Brown receives airfare to London, England, to compete at the piping competitions there in November.
