Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary changes leading-drummers
The Grade 2 Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary Pipe Band of Dumfries, Scotland, is changing its leading-drummer after Norrie Thomson decided to step down due to personal committments. He is succeeded by He is succeeded by David Sherridan.
Thomson had led the Dumfries & Galloway corps since 1998. He was previously leading-drummer of the 100 Pipers Whisky in the 1970s, and went on to be leading-drummer for Red Hackle and Annan Ex-Servicemen’s Club. He will reportedly stay with Dumfies & Galloway.
David Sherridan was leading-drummer of the Annan Ex-Servicemen’s Club before spending five years with David Urquhart Travel. He joined Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary in 2004.
Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary finsihed sixth in Grade 2 at the 2005 World Pipe Band Championships. Its drum section placed fifth.
