Day two at Atlantic Canada Championships goes to 78th Highlanders
Antigonish, Nova Scotia – July 22, 2007 – The Grade 1 78th Highlanders Halifax Citadel won the second day of events at the Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Championships on a sunshine-drenched afternoon before an enthusiastic crowd. In the Professional solo competitions, Bruce Gandy of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, was the overall winner of the piping and Aaron Carter of Fredericton, New Brunswick, took the piping. The Antigonish Highland Games have been going for 144 successive years, making the event the longest running in North America and, possibly, the world.
