Band for 2010 Pre-World’s Concert confirmed

While 2008 World Champions Simon Fraser University have sold out their “Affirmation” concert on Wednesday, August 12th, at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, several thousand tickets for the 2010 Pre-World’s Concert will go on sale the same night.

 

The featured band? St. Laurence O’Toole of Dublin, which makes its return to the stage since last performing at the concert in 2005.

 

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, 2010.

 

The concert is coordinated and promoted by the Grade 2 Phoenix Honda-Glasgow Skye Pipe Band, and band manager Dougie Orr said, ” ‘The O’Tooles’ captured the hearts of many pipe band enthusiasts when they took to the concert hall stage in 2005 and recorded their first CD The Dawning of the Day. Join the band in this historic celebration and enjoy what will truly be a momentous occasion.”

 

St. Laurence O’Toole is the reigning RSPBA Champion of Champions. 2010 is the one-hundredth anniversary of the band being formed.

 

Orr added that tickets will be on sale at a reduced price on August 12th only, and can be purchased online or in-person at the box office that evening.
