Mac-Cals sweep home turf at Dundee
Dundee, Scotland – May 13, 2018 – The hometown MacKenzie Caledonian were winners of the Grade 1 and Grade 2 competitions at the Dundee City Pipe Band Competition, held in the middle of Scotland’s fourth-biggest municipality. The Dollar Academy Juvenile band played up to Grade 2 and placed second, ahead of the Grade 2 City of Discovery, also of Dundee. Lomond & Clyde, the only certified Grade 1 band entered, withdrew from the event, which would have been the band’s debut in the top grade, leaving only Grade 2 bands to participate in the contest.
