Easton secures New Zealand Open Solo Piping Championship at Hastings

Hastings, New Zealand – March 31-April 1, 2018 – Stuart Easton of Palmerston North, New Zealand, emerged the overall winner of the New Zealand Open Piping Championship at the annual Hastings Highland Games held the over the Easter weekend, taking two firsts and two seconds, as well as the Gold Clasp. Liam Kernaghan of Wellington took the Gold Medal, and thus qualifies to compete in the Clasp going forward. There was a large entry of contestants from New Zealand Australia for the largest and most prestigious Highland games in New Zealand.
