SFU sweeps all four Grade 1 events at Enumclaw

Enumclaw, Washington – July 25-26, 2015 – Some 93 solo contestants and 14 pipe bands competed at the annual Pacific Northwest Highland Games in unusually sunny and warm conditions for the area, but typical this year in at times heavy rain, welcome as the region has endured a serious ongoing drought. Simon Fraser University swept the four two-band Grade 1 events, but on ensemble preference in both the Medley and MSR on the Sunday, with Dowco-Triumph Street taking all four firsts in piping. Alastair Lee and Grant Maxwell were overall winners of the Professional Solo Piping and Snare Drumming, respectively.
