HD video: 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel): 2014 North American Champions

Maxville, Ontario – August 2, 2014 – The 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) won the 2014 North American Pipe Band Championship at the 67th annual Glengarry Highland Games in very warm weather, with thunderstorms threatening later in the afternoon, but which never materialized. In Grade 2, the Ottawa Police Service Pipe Band continued its glide to Grade 1 status with a win of both events, and Dunedin from Florida took the Grade 3 contest. Bruce Gandy of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, gained the overall award in the Professional Solo Piping, and thus North American Champion. Derek Cooper won the equivalent for Professional Solo Drumming.
