Roddy MacLeod wins 2014 MacDonald Quaich
Skye, Scotland – June 6, 2014 – Roddy MacLeod of Glasgow won the annual Donald MacDonald Quaich, an invitational competition that features the music of the great piper. MacLeod played “The Piper’s Warning to His Master.” The competition received even more support from the Clan Donald Trust, with increased prize money and compensation for judges.
Also competing were Stuart Liddell, Inveraray, Scotland, “The Old Lament for the Sword”; Angus MacColl, Benderloch, Scotland, “Lady MacDonald’s Lament”; Willie McCallum, Bearsden, Scotland, “The White Flag”; and Iain Speirs, Edinburgh, “The Groat.”
The event was judged by Colin MacLellan. Margaret Stewart provided additional music for the audience.
