Antigonish celebrates 150 with sunshine and record attendance

Antigonish, Nova Scotia – July 13-14, 2013 – The 150th Antigonish Highland Games brought sunny skies, record attendance and a full slate of competitions. Bruce Gandy and Alex Gandy won all of the Professional Solo Piping events, while the Grade 4 Hamilton Police Pipe Band maintained its string of successive victories with numbers seven and eight on Saturday and Sunday. The two days were divided into the Nova Scotia Pipe Band Championships and the Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Championships. To celebrate the 150-year milestone, organizers invited all pipers and drummers who ever participated in the event to reunite for a massed march through the town.
