78th Frasers take Kincardine as Ontario season continues
Kincardine, Ontario – July 6, 2013 – The 78th Fraser Highlanders won the MSR Grade 1 competition at the annual Kincardine Scottish Festival under very warm, sunny conditions at the always well-attended event. The win for the 78th Frasers continued the fickle Ontario season that has seen a different band rise to the top at each of the contests. The Ottawa Police Services Pipe Band took Grade 2 again and challenged up to Grade 1, while the local band, Penetangore, won the five-contestant Grade 3 event. Ian K. MacDonald was the Professional Piper of the Day.

No, contrary to what some people think, we don’t know everything and we can’t read minds and it’s not a conspiracy against you. We generally rely on others to send results to editor@pipesdrums.com . Much appreciated.
Are the results of 2nd and 3rd in Grade 3 and all of grades 4 and 5 a secret? Surely you know them, and you must realize that a lot of your potential readers would like to know.
Anybody seen the skipper’ boat?
Those judges don’t like to move from their spots.
My apologies to P|D. I made the unwarranted assumption that you had a contact at the games who would relay all the results to you.
Congratulations 78th! Best tone in the park from the pipe corps. Bake
I was ashamed and embarrassed for the town to see how much the gate fees were. Families turning away deciding that their $125.00 was better spent elsewhere. Honestly people don’t go down that route or soon you won’t have a festival at all.
I agree with Hossman as well. My family drove in from the west side of Michigan and were shocked at the cost. $75 to get everyone inside? No way. — Graham MacMaster
I agree with Hossman, the gate fees at these festivals is ridiculous. for what was offered my family would have rather gone into the town and done some shopping and walked down by the lake. The price to see some pipebands at this particular games is crazy seeing as though the place is so nice, I doubt more than half the people on the street watching the parade paid to get into the games, and it probably hurt the small shops set up within those gates.
Spot on Hossman. Kincardine games committee need a reality check. $25.00 per person is ridiculous. By the time they get it figured out it may be to late. Maxville $20.00 Go figure.
