FMM, Boghall come out swinging at British; Shotts makes the list

Bathgate, Scotland – May 25, 2013 – One of the best days of weather ever for a year’s first RSPBA major saw reigning World Champions Field Marshal Montgomery take the event, starting its season with a flourish. The renewed Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia, under new Pipe-Major Ryan Canning and with more than half of its members new to the band in 2013, made the prize list, while local favourites Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia scored big with a solid second prize. Field Marshal won the drumming, all but assuring the band of the prize.

The sunny, warm weather was a dramatic turnaround from the previous week when the Grade 1 and Grade 2 events were cancelled at the same park at the Bathgate Highland Games. Field Marshal Montgomery also played with a mostly new bass section.
