Updated: North Berwick – Speirs, Mulhearn in solos; all Boghall in bands
North Berwick, Scotland – August 6, 2011 – Iain Speirs and John Mulhearn won the Piobaireachd and light music, respectively, at the North Berwick games, at which about 14 competed in the senior piping. In an unusual twist, competitors had to play two marches, a strathspey and a reel in an MMSR event. The solo competitions finished under good weather, but heavy rain started in time for the band events.

Congrats to both the guys. I had the pleasure of hearing their performances as our band (Pasadena Scots) were there to compete in Grade 3. We placed 3rd. The traditional march through town was cancelled due to the rain. Looking very wet for the Bridge of Allan tomorrow 🙁 — John McDonald
