Rob Roy unmuddied by soggy Kingston Festival

Kingston, Ontario – May 28, 2011 – Despite a soggy ground, the independent Kingston Scottish Festival attracted a strong entry of almost 20 bands and almost 100 solo performances. The contest marked the debut in Grade 2 of both the Rob Roy and Ottawa Police pipe bands. The event is limited to piping and drumming competitions, and is run without official sanctioning by any association, although PPBSO Champion Supreme points were awarded in the solo contests. The band events had four judges, each critiquing from a strictly ensemble perspective.
