Family day for Gandys at Maxville

Maxville, Ontario – July 30, 2009 – It was a good day for the Gandy family at the Maxville Gold Medal competitions, as Bruce Gandy won the Bar to the Medal reserved for previous winners, and son Alex Gandy won the Piobaireachd Society (Canada) Gold Medal at the Maxville Highland Games. The Bar competition is reserved for previous winners of the Maxville Medal.

Bar to the Medal (eight competed)

1st Bruce Gandy, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, “The Battle of Waternish”

2nd Roderick MacLean, Halifax, Nova Scotia

3rd Alex Gandy, “Lament for the Viscount of Dundee”
