Peel Police make clean sweep at Cambridge
Cambridge, Ontario – July 18, 2009 – Cool and overcast weather that threatened rain most of the day made conditions challenging for competitors at the well attended Cambridge Highland Games, which saw 29 bands competing through all grades. Both the Peel Regional Police and the Hamilton Police enjoyed straight first-placings from all judges in Grade 1 and Grade 2, respectively. The 78th Fraser Highlanders did not attend due to a member’s wedding. Alex Gandy of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, had a near-perfect day in the Professional solo piping, taking three of four first prizes.
