Perth Games changes venue
The Perth Highland Games, scheduled for Sunday, August 10th, has made a last-minute change of venue, with the event moving to the Perth Racecourse. The move was necessitated by poor ground conditions at the original site because of recent wet weather.
The new location is located on the Perth-Blairgowrie road, and competitors coming from the south should plan for at least an additional 15 minutes of travel, according to organizers.
The event was cancelled in past years, including 2007, because of waterlogged grounds, making bus parking risky.
More than 40 bands have entered this year’s Perth games, mainly because the event is before the World Pipe Band Championships, the first time for many years that it has not followed the big competition.
About time they figured that one out. We where on route to the game last year when we found out it was cancelled.
