Congrats to SLOT – nice to see another name on a trophy! Great sound and musicality in that Medley. Also got to agree with Tom Kerr and say well done to the Clan Gregor Drum Corps who, to me anyway, are HIGHLY underated. Finally a huge well done to Beeston & District from England on winning Grade 3A – great achievement. Regards Daz
Congrats SLOT! Hope to see some youtubes of the conest.
A big congrats to Terry Tully, Stepehn Creighton, and all the other members of SLOT on their big win. Also congrats to Jimsy and the Shotts corps on their win.
Congratulations Lads, Great to see this long overdue and much deserved win, Can’t wait to see you add some more to that trophy cabinet. Look forward to hearing it on YouTube
Thought SLOT medley lacked in the technical playing aspects when compared to FMM and Scottish Power….Also it seems now that you don’t need a good intro or a good stop…Early E’s and trailing drones/chanters don’t do it for me. Would suspect FMM, Scottish Power and Boghall are a bit disappointed as they are playing some good technically demanding tunes. Well done to Ballycoan , I think they are consolidating there Grade One status well.
Tom, what I am saying is that the judges should judge the performance on the day as presented to them…….and not get all soppy eyed because they have a favourite band……These prizes SHOULD be awarded on merit and merit alone…If the PERFORMANCE on the DAY is good enough then that band should win regardless if whether they have been good or bad in the past.
AAAAWWWWWHHH YYEEAAAHHHHHHH….
Both SLOT and SHOTTS had and early E… i’m still delighted for SLOT, musically they are the best out there
Congratulations to St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band on a fabulous win! Best wishes for the rest of the season
