Acts for Gordon Duncan celebration concert announced

The performers at “A National Treasure – a celebration of the music of Gordon Duncan” concert on September 29 at the Perth Concert Hall in Perth, Scotland, have been announced.

The line-up comprises an eclectic mix of Celtic folk reflective of the late piper’s musical interests and life experiences:

• Allan MacDonald
• Ross Ainslie
• Jarlath Henderson
• Ali Hutton
• Gerry O’Connor

• The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland
• The Atholl Highlanders Pipe Band

The concert, organized by the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust, is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm, and tickets are available by phone at 0845-612-6322, or from the promoters, www.horsecross.co.uk.

The tribute concert closely follows the release in August of a collection and a CD of Gordon Duncan’s compositions and playing, with all profits going to the Trust.
