Bowes wins big at Strathclyde Police Juniors

Glasgow – February 24, 2007 – Keith Bowes was the overall Under-18 winner of the first annual Strathclyde Police Pipe Band Junior Solo Piping Competition held at Smithycroft School. Bowes won a full set of McCallum pipes. George Stewart was the overall Under-15 winner. More than 150 competed.

“The whole band were involved with either judging, stewarding, tuning or as background admin staff,” said Donald Mackay, Straghclyde Police pipe-major. “The turnout was tremendous and the feedback we have been getting already is very positive. We would like to thank everyone involved who helped out with the organising and to everyone who turned out to support the event on the day.”
