Henderson best overall at Piping Centre invitational
Glasgow – August 14, 2005 – The second annual international invitational solo piping competition was held at the National Piping Centre as the concluding event of the Piping Live! festival. With two seconds, Murray Henderson of Kirriemuir, Scotland, was the overall winner, and Iain Speirs of Edinburgh and Angus MacColl of Benderloch, Scotland, took home the two first-prizes. The now-bankrupt Band Room sponsored the event, and competitors reportedly received their prizes but so far not the promised appearance fee.
