ScottishPower Performs for Pope at Vatican

Glasgow’s ScottishPower Pipe Band departed for Rome on December 12 to particpate in the Vatican Christmas Concert on Thursday televised on Italian TV.

ScottishPower, along with other artists performing in the concert, had an audience with the Pope on December 13. Musicians also performing include Bryan Ferry, Delores O’Riordan, Lionel Richie, and The Corrs.

The band will also conduct a weekend workshop with the City of Rome Pipe Band while in Italy.

ScottishPower also confirmed that well known soloist and reedmaker Donald MacPhee has rejoined the band. During the last year, MacPhee had been Pipe-Major of the Grade 2 Dumbarton Pipe Band, but resigned the post in September.
