Carlisle Wins Overall Prize at Scottish Junior Championship

Carnoustine, Scotland – September 21, 2002 – Andrew Carlisle of County Down, Northern Ireland, was the winner of the overall award at the Scottish Junior Solo Piping Championships held at Carnoustie High School, near the town’s more famous golf course. Carlisle became the first “overseas” winner of the prize.

There was an entry of 180 pipers under age 18 over the competition’s myriad events. Prizes ranged from a new set of pipes to Highland dress to a trip to a piping school in the United States.
