‘The Ceilidh 4’ Scheduled for April 12th in Glasgow

An all-star lineup of Scottish piping and folk music talent has been assembled for the fourth annual “Ceilidh” in Glasgow on April 12, with all proceeds going towards the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Scotland.

Held at Henry Wood Halls, Berkley Street, Glasgow, pipers Gordon Walker, Stuart Shedden, and Stuart Liddell, the Boghall & Bathgate Pipe Band, and folk musicians Laura McGee, Ian Anderson, the Black Rose Ceilidh Band and the Pentlands Ceilidh Band all will perform.

“I became involved because my brother and his wife have a son who has Cystic Fibrosis,” said Brian McComish, organizer of the event and a member of Boghall & Bathgate. “I had the idea to run a ceilidh to raise money for research after hearing the news, and I hoped to have the best traditional musicians involved, to guarantee a great evening for people from the pipe band world to normal ceilidh-going followers.”

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 2:00 a.m. Tickets are £10. More information is available ceilidh4@hotmail.com.

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs and liver and can seriously shorten the life expectancy of those suffering from it.
